our Producer
Our matcha is sourced from an 8th generatio tea producer, nestled in Jōyō City, Kyōto Prefecture — a renowned region for producing the highest quality Tencha (碾茶), the raw material for matcha.
Surrounded by Uji, Ujitawara, and Kyotanabe, Jōyō is at the heart of Uji tea production.

The result? A matcha experience that’s smooth, balanced, and perfectly suited for everyday moments or ceremonial occasions.
How our story began
Cha Lab began with a simple mission: to make the rich traditions of matcha accessible to all. Our founder, Jon Mirador, is a certified tea practitioner under the Urasenke Chanoyu Center (裏千家) and has dedicated his life to the ancient practice of matcha tea.
Inspired by the transformative change tea has had on Jon’s life, we wanted to bridge the gap between authenticity and modern living. Our goal is to honor the rich heritage of tea through expert-run ceremonies and authentic, single-source tea.
By sourcing our matcha from a producer with over 150 years of tradition, we ensure that every sip tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and care.
